Card lounge
Card lounge and poker-table etiquette
The card lounge is designed as a composed, physical place for shared attention. These standards help protect that atmosphere for newer and experienced participants alike.
04.1
Physical, offline participation
The Slate & Onyx card lounge is an in-person setting. Any poker formats presented by the venue are offline poker experiences held within the physical venue, at shared poker tables. Guests should follow the format guidance and staff direction that applies to their table, including any practical instructions given before or during a poker evening. Please remain attentive to the room and ask for clarification if an instruction is unclear, rather than assuming that another table’s approach applies to yours.

04.2
Table conduct and shared focus
Participants are asked to keep the poker table orderly, communicate respectfully and avoid conduct that distracts, intimidates or interferes with another person’s enjoyment. Cards, physical table details and shared surfaces should be handled with care. The card lounge welcomes people with different levels of familiarity, so patience and clear, courteous communication matter. Please allow staff to guide the pace and practical order of the table when needed, and keep the shared focus on a considered in-person experience.
04.3
Texas Hold’em format guidance
Where Texas Hold’em is offered, participants should observe the stated format, wait for clear cues and ask staff for clarification before disrupting the flow of play. Slate & Onyx may set practical table guidance for an individual poker evening to support a calm and consistent environment. This guidance is part of the venue experience and should be followed by everyone at the table.
Ask before acting when a table cue or format instruction is unclear.
04.4
Staff discretion and respectful departure
Slate & Onyx may pause, redirect or end participation where venue directions or table etiquette are not being followed. This discretion exists to care for the room, staff and other guests. If asked to leave a shared area, please do so respectfully and without disruption. We aim to handle concerns calmly and ask guests to help maintain that same standard through the close of an evening.
